What is confirmed

NMC invited applications for new colleges and intake increases for AY 2026–27 and required existing colleges to submit annual disclosures for seat renewal.

What is not yet confirmed

An application, inspection, letter of intent or news report is not a final counselling seat. Treat a seat as actionable only when it appears in the controlling NMC/MCC/state matrix.

Open the dated final MBBS matrix.
Match the college name, management and intake.
Confirm the round-specific MCC/state matrix before choice locking.

Annual recognition framework

NMC clarified in January 2026 that the earlier separate recognition regime has been replaced by annual renewal under the 2023 standards framework.
