JGMM Medical College Hubballi: verified identity
KLE Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorusavirmath Medical College (JGMMMC) is at Gabbur Cross, Kotgondhunshi, Hubballi, Karnataka 580028. It is a constituent medical college of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), a deemed-to-be university.
NMC's college record identifies it as KA/025/P/4, established in 2021. The full name is long and appears in slightly different spellings across matrices, so candidates should match JGMMMC, Hubballi, KAHER and the institute code—not merely “KLE Medical College.” Do not confuse it with KLE's older Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Belagavi or with Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in Hubballi.
JGMMMC is still relatively young. Its first 2021 cohort is only reaching the later part of the MBBS/internship cycle, so completed-batch and alumni evidence is much thinner than at KAHER's older Belagavi college.
JGMM MBBS admission has two distinct routes
The college is under a deemed university, but official KAHER documents also show Karnataka government-quota seats allotted through KEA. Candidates must not assume that every seat uses the same portal, fee or eligibility rules.
| Seat route | Counselling authority | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Deemed paid/general | MCC | Live institute code, seats, fee and all-India eligibility |
| Deemed NRI | MCC | NRI row, USD fee and sponsor documents |
| Karnataka government quota | KEA | 2026 eligibility, reservation, matrix and notified fee |
The old 150-seat admission table showed 90 MCC general, 23 MCC NRI and 37 KEA seats. That explained why an MCC matrix could total 113 while the college intake was 150. NMC later raised the intake to 200 for 2025-26; a fresh authority-wise split must be taken from 2026 documents.
MCC workflow
- Qualify NEET UG 2026 and read the MCC UG bulletin.
- Register and pay the applicable deemed security/registration amount.
- Match the exact JGMMMC Hubballi code and quota in the live matrix.
- Order choices only after checking the complete KAHER fee and bond.
- Report after allotment with originals and current payment proof.
KEA workflow
- Read KEA's 2026 medical eligibility and registration notice.
- Complete KEA registration/document verification within its deadlines.
- Check the exact JGMMMC government-seat row and applicable category rules.
- Use only KEA's allotment and KAHER's KEA reporting instructions.
An MCC registration does not make a candidate eligible for KEA, and a KEA application does not cover MCC deemed seats.
JGMM Medical College seats: what changed
NMC's national matrix dated October 2025 lists 150 seats for 2024-25 and 200 seats for 2025-26. The current NMC college listing also displays 200 as the intake field while retaining the earlier renewal history.
| Evidence | Seats/meaning | 2026 use |
|---|---|---|
| NMC 2024-25 | 150 total intake | Historical baseline |
| Old KAHER split | 90 MCC general + 23 NRI + 37 KEA | Explains 113 MCC count; not current split |
| NMC 2025-26 | 200 total intake | Latest completed-cycle evidence |
| MCC/KEA 2026 matrices | Current route-wise vacancies | Choice-filling authority |
Do not call 113 the total intake, and do not manufacture the missing 50-seat allocation by maintaining old percentages. Also remember that sanctioned intake is not the vacancy remaining in every round.
Eligibility: MCC and KEA are not interchangeable
Every candidate must meet NEET UG 2026 age, nationality/OCI and qualifying-examination requirements. For MCC's ordinary deemed paid row, admission is generally open all-India without Karnataka domicile. NRI candidates need the exact sponsor, relationship, passport/visa, affidavit and embassy/consulate evidence required by MCC.
KEA government seats are governed by Karnataka's current clauses, document-verification process and reservation rules. Do not infer eligibility from an older brochure or from eligibility for private open seats elsewhere in Karnataka. Read the 2026 KEA bulletin and relevant clause before listing JGMMMC.
A provisional allotment can still fail at original verification. Never use fabricated study, domicile or NRI documents.
JGMM Medical College fees: official 2025-26 benchmark
KAHER's revised notification dated 16 July 2025 published the following MBBS tuition for JGMMMC. These figures are official for 2025-26, not confirmed 2026-27 charges.
| Year | MCC general/paid | NRI |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | ₹19,20,000 | US$45,500 |
| 2 | ₹19,15,000 | US$44,000 |
| 3 | ₹19,15,000 | US$44,000 |
| 4 | ₹19,15,000 | US$44,000 |
| 5 | ₹9,60,000 | US$24,000 |
The listed general tuition totals ₹86.25 lakh across the five instalments. The listed NRI tuition totals US$201,500. Neither total includes every living or institutional expense, and exchange-rate/bank charges affect NRI cash flow.
KAHER separately notified the 2025-26 KEA government-quota annual amount as ₹6,09,834 KEA fee plus ₹1,54,250 university/college-level charges, totalling ₹7,64,084 per year. This lower amount applied only to a genuine KEA-allotted government seat, not an MCC deemed paid seat.
Hostel and complete budget
The official 2025-26 first-year JGMM hostel notice listed ₹1,24,200 yearly room/food charges, ₹30,000 refundable deposit and ₹200 admission charge, totalling ₹1,54,400 initially. Obtain the 2026 notice for room type, inclusions, revision and refund terms.
Add tuition, hostel, food, examination, registration, insurance, books, instruments, transport and personal costs year by year. Ask whether hostel is compulsory and whether any clinical/internship-year charge continues. For NRI payment, confirm currency, remitter and bank instructions.
Pay only after a valid MCC or KEA allotment to the beneficiary in current KAHER instructions. Never use a personal account, consultant QR code, donation or “seat reservation” payment.
Refund, resignation and bond checks
MCC and KEA each control their round, resignation and forfeiture rules; KAHER controls its institutional refund and discontinuation terms subject to applicable law. A counselling security loss can be separate from college fee liability.
Before reporting, ask in writing what happens on permitted upgradation, resignation within the authority window, resignation after the cut-off, eligibility failure and mid-course discontinuation. Save the exact bulletin, allotment letter, fee notification, undertaking, UTR and receipts.
Do not assume the same refund rule applies to MCC and KEA seats. Do not accept a verbal “fully refundable” assurance.
JGMM Medical College cutoff 2026
There is no single JGMM cutoff. MCC general, MCC NRI and KEA government seats have different candidate pools and results. Use the final/revised closing NEET All India Rank—or KEA-published rank field—for the exact route, category and round.
NEET marks-to-rank changes annually, so compare ranks rather than recycled marks. Never combine an NRI stray closing with MCC general or KEA government evidence.
- Aspirational: rank is weaker than several matching historical closings.
- Competitive: rank overlaps the same route/category evidence.
- Relatively safer: rank is stronger than multiple matching closings, without guarantee.
The intake increase from 150 to 200 can affect closing ranks, but the direction and magnitude cannot be assumed. Fee revisions, choice preferences and route-wise allocation also matter.
Clinical exposure: current official evidence
JGMMMC's official clinical-material PDF reports 12-month daily ranges of 715–966 OPD visits, 60–80 casualty visits, 55–85 admissions and 50–70 discharges. It reports 230–260 occupied beds against 330 required beds, with occupancy described around 70–80%.
The same disclosure lists 17–22 major and 33–40 minor operations daily, 2–4 normal deliveries and 1–3 caesarean sections. The college homepage describes a 330-bed hospital with medicine, surgery, paediatrics, OBG, orthopaedics, anaesthesia, dermatology, pulmonary medicine, ENT, ophthalmology, psychiatry, radiodiagnosis and dentistry.
These are useful institution-published metrics, not independently audited live counts. Ask for the exact measurement dates, source registers and department-wise distribution. With a 200-student intake, patient exposure per learner matters more than the headline total.
Campus audit questions
- How many beds were occupied yesterday in medicine, surgery, paediatrics and OBG?
- How many students share each unit, OPD room and bedside session?
- How has hospital capacity changed after the intake increased to 200?
- Are all listed faculty and residents full-time and visible in AEBAS?
- Where do students complete specialty and community rotations?
- What internship stipend is paid, and is payment evidence available?
- Which facilities are operational now versus planned in campus material?
Newer-college maturity and comparison
JGMMMC started in 2021. By 2026 it has more operating history than a 2024-start college but far less than JNMC Belagavi. Verify whether its first cohort has entered internship and ask for university examination outcomes, internship rotations and student feedback.
The official about page has historically discussed continuing campus development. Distinguish completed, operational facilities from plans. Visit on a regular weekday; inspect wards, labs, library, skills lab, hostels and transport rather than relying on photographs.
Compare JGMMMC with other deemed and KEA options using current NMC status, patient load per student, faculty continuity, completed-batch evidence, full-course cost and refund risk. KAHER's university-level accreditation does not by itself measure this campus's clinical experience.
Reporting document checklist
- Correct MCC or KEA 2026 allotment letter and payment record.
- NEET UG 2026 scorecard and admit card.
- Class 10 and 12 marksheets/passing certificates.
- Transfer, migration and conduct certificates as required.
- Government ID, photographs and medical fitness certificate.
- KEA eligibility/reservation documents for the allotted KEA row.
- NRI sponsor passport/visa, relationship, affidavit and embassy evidence for MCC NRI.
- KAHER online admission form and APAAR/ABC ID where current instructions require it.
- Anti-ragging declarations and institutional undertakings.
- Fee payment proof, hostel application and original-document acknowledgement.
Use the 2026 route-specific checklist. An MCC allotee should not blindly follow a KEA instruction sheet, or vice versa.
Common mistakes
- Calling 113 the total intake; it represented old MCC rows excluding 37 KEA seats.
- Ignoring the NMC increase from 150 to 200 for 2025-26.
- Inventing a new quota split for the extra 50 seats.
- Using only MCC and missing the distinct KEA government route.
- Applying KEA government fees to an MCC paid seat.
- Presenting 2025-26 fees as confirmed for 2026.
- Mixing route/category cutoff ranks.
- Assuming 330 beds means all are occupied.
- Confusing JGMMMC Hubballi with JNMC Belagavi or KIMS Hubballi.
- Paying before a valid allotment.
Frequently asked questions
Is JGMM Medical College deemed?
Yes, it is a KAHER constituent. Paid/NRI seats use MCC, while official documents also show a separate KEA government-seat allocation.
How many MBBS seats are there?
NMC recorded 200 for 2025-26, increased from 150. Confirm 2026 permission and route-wise matrices.
Why did MCC show 113 earlier?
The old 150-seat split contained 90 MCC general, 23 MCC NRI and 37 KEA seats. The 2026 split must be rechecked.
What is the fee?
Official 2025-26 general tuition totalled ₹86.25 lakh in instalments; KEA government quota was ₹7,64,084 annually. These are not confirmed 2026 fees.
Can non-Karnataka students apply?
They can generally compete for MCC deemed paid seats. KEA government-seat eligibility must be checked under the 2026 KEA clauses.
What cutoff should I use?
Use the closing rank for the exact MCC general, MCC NRI or KEA category and round.
Final decision checklist
Confirm the 2026 NMC intake and separate MCC/KEA matrices. Download the matching fee, hostel, refund and reporting documents. Verify eligibility for the specific route before spending counselling security.
Audit patient load per student, the response to the 200-seat increase, campus readiness, faculty continuity and internship evidence. Lock JGMMMC only if the correct seat route is affordable and you would join under its written terms.
